I have multiple times in the last few months. No trying to hide anything. What you see is what you get. Any example photos were taken by me with this camera in the last 6 months and not modified in Photoshop. This is an early M3 made in 1955 with serial number 703 136. I have shot with this camera at every shutter speed, and all seem correct and have produced good photos for me. Film advance lever is smooth.
Everything mechanical on this camera works as you would hope and expect. In reality, the balsam had started to brown and bubble. The prism/beamsplitter has been repaired. The original balsam was removed and new balsam was applied. The viewfinder is crisp and clear now, the framelines are bright and the rangefinder/focusing patch has plenty of contrast and is easy to use.
As the original vulcanite was chipping off. The body itself shows signs of use. There are no majors flaws with the body. It just has signs of use. It is great mechanically, and, with the repaired prism/beamsplitter and new leatherette, this camera should be great to shoot for decades.
The included Elmar 50mm f2.8 is clean. No fungus, no haze, and very minimal dust, does not effect pictures. It takes very crisp, clear pictures that have the Leica pop. It includes the original Leica lens cap.
Additionally, this lens collapses, which I think is cool. It makes your M3 a much more compact package that is easier to carry around. I assume this was the case the original owner bought for this camera. The case is in good condition. No issues with it at all. The strap is really nice and comfortable, but the plastic clips that secure the strap to the camera probably need to be replaced. One side of the strap will disconnect from the camera at times. New plastic clips would fix this. A LeicaMeter MC is included. I don't know if this works correctly. I have never tried using it and don't even know how to use it. It was included with the camera when I bought it, but I've always used a modern light meter with this camera. A very nice early working example of an M3.
