I can't claim any expertise on cameras. My experience with these peaked when I won a Kodak Hawkeye as a cub scout for my sale of cookies. Nonetheless, I quickly realized that this Kodak Medalist camera was no Hawkeye. Reading the extensive reviews of this model on the web, I learned that this model was often declared by those who seemed to know to be the best American-made camera ever. So here it is as recently discovered.
I'll can only tell you what I can see. The camera appears to be in incredible condition with few signs of wear - no wear to the camera body, almost no wear to the leather covering, clean in every way. Extending the lens is a bit stiff. I see that the self-timer is set. The shutter does not fire, apparently, from my reading, a common problem as the internal grease has hardened after the nearly 80 years the camera has been around.
I'd expect that the camera will likely need some repair by a qualified technician. 100mm f/3.5 Ektar lens. All other functions appear to work. The leather carrying case is also in wonderful condition with little wear aside from a 1 tearing of the leather at the base of the case flap, visible in my photo. The camera weighs about 4 lbs. Please check my feedback for the remarks from my many valued customers. Please ask if you have questions and certainly check out the other items I have listed!
